Raid Tour Description (experienced off-road riders only, solo riding, no passengers, a great deal of stand-up riding)

Leaving Cape Town - the route takes us along a network of back roads, gravel mountain passes and follows the East Coast up the Garden Route, including the famous Swartberg and Rooiberg Passes, among more than 28 scenic and historical mountain passes.

After traversing several historic Ox Wagon trails, we tackle the most spectacular section of the route via Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area. Baviaanskloof is rated as the no. 1 biking adventure route in Southern Africa by local and international riders. With multiple gravel passes and over 10 shallow river crossings, Baviaanskloof delivers the BEST South Africa has to offer in an exciting 2-day section.

After Baviaanskloof we take a break from the bikes for a drive in a private air-conditioned safari vehicle around Addo Elephant Park, including a picnic lunch.

The route back west travel is through the Karoo Region, Sutherland and the spectacular Ouberg Pass into the Tankwa Karoo and the Cederberg. Finally we tackle the rocky and sandy Wupperthal Rooibos Tea trail to Clanwilliam, then head south via the Citrusdal, Ceres, Bainskloof Pass and back down to finish in Cape Town.
