This tour is for more experienced off-road and gravel/sand road riders. Namibia has mostly gravel highways, and in several places riders will encounter light sand. Good off-road stand-up experience and sand riding experience is necessary.

Leaving Cape Town and travelling up into the rugged Cederberg Mountains, we visit the ancient cave painting of the Bushmen, then head North through the Northern Cape to Okiep for an overnight stay. The back roads from Calvinia to Springbok are relatively sandy, so riders will get a taste of sand riding.

After Okiep we travel North on the N7 highway to the Namibian border, then on to the mighty Fishriver Canyon, the world's second largest canyon. After the Canyon, we travel  North East to the Keetmanshoop region, thereafter west to the coastal town of Luderitz, including a visit to the Kolmanskoppe abandoned diamond mine ghost town. We continue North to Helmeringhausen for an overnight stay, and onto the world's biggest sand dunes at Sossusvlei. We have a full rest day in the dunes and guided shuttle tour to Sossusvlei, Big Daddy Dune and the world famous Deadvlei.

After Sossusvlei we head to Walvis Bay on some of the most challenging gravel and sandy roads. From Swakopmund we journey through the Moon Landscape and up to Spitzkoppe for an incredible starry night in the desert.

The final leg of the journey takes us on the C28 from Karibib to Windhoek over the long 78km Boshua Pass into Windhoek for the final night's stay.

Why Guided and Supported is best ?
Namibia is a harsh and tough country to ride with very few locations offering motorcycle and tyre repairs. You are far better off having the support of a vehicle for emergencies. Medical response in Namibia can be anything between 2 to 4 hours. Often riders think they can ride sandy roads, but in reality, its very challenging, so you have the support of the trailer for really demanding sections.

NB: We can only offer this tour as self-guided for highly experienced off-road riders with extensive sand riding experience.
